So, the news says that Obama is going to be speaking soon at the Brandenburg Gate. I wonder what pitiful bromides he will come up with for his speech.
Here’s how it’s done. It’s 1963, and the Bolshevik criminals are in complete control of the Soviet Union and its satellites, especially East Germany. The Berlin Wall has just been erected. The West’s response has been a massive airlift of supplies and military support to West Berlin. That city, geographically situated within the Soviet-dominated East Germany, is walled off from the world. JFK, a solid anti-communist during the time before the appeasing McGovernite takeover of the Democratic Party, arrives to a fully adoring West Berlin audience. The young president lays out plainly for even the dullest of minds the contrasts between freedom and totalitarianism. Here in West Berlin, freedom has created prosperity; but just over the wall on the eastern side resides the drab ruins of a city manifested from the evil created from the ideas of Lenin and Stalin. Kennedy magnificently states the self-evident:
There are many people in the world who really don’t understand, or say they don’t, what is the great issue between the free world and the Communist world. Let them come to Berlin!.
There are some who say that Communism is the wave of the future. Let them come to Berlin!
And there are some who say in Europe and elsewhere we can work with the Communists. Let THEM come to Berlin!
And then Reagan at the same location a generation later:
